July 24, Serbian President Aleksandar Vu?i? met HBIS Chairman Liu Jian in Belgrade, Serbia. Ambassador of China to Serbia Li Ming, Serbian Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Adriana Mesarovic, Minister of Domestic and International Trade Jagoda Lazarevi?, HBIS Chief Accountant Hu Zhigang were also in the meeting.

President Vu?i? welcomed the visiting of Liu Jian and his team. President Vu?i? said, HBIS was one of the biggest foreign investors in Serbia, which was a vital partner in guarding Serbian steel industry, and we share this major responsibility together. To Serbia, HBIS Serbia plant provides 5000 jobs and the plant’s smooth operation not only reflects the core interests of the country, but also is the strategic cornerstone of the bilateral relationship of the two countries. I firmly believe, with mutual commitment, pragmatic attitude and clear vision, we could consolidate the business performance of HBIS Group in Serbia, and will also promote the upgrading of the whole industry. Serbia has always been a trustworthy partner. Serbia will continue to provide strategic and structural supports in all aspect for modernization transformation of the project.

Liu Jian expressed his gratitude to President Vu?i? for the warm reception of the visit and the long term support of Serbian government to the development of HBIS Serbia plant. He said, under the supports of President Xi Jinping and President Vu?i?, guided by Hebei Provincial CPC Committee and Provincial government, HBIS Group gives full support to HBIS Serbia plant development, the management team and all employees of the plant have been working in unity, with collaborative effort, diligence and dedication to maintain the smooth operation of the steel plant. HBIS will continue to earnestly implement and carry out the important consensus from the leaders of the two countries to enhance the sound operation of the steel plant, formulate and take more solid measures in more areas to ensure a better development of the steel plant, make positive contributions in bilateral friendship between China and Serbia with a even more outstanding business performance.

Executives of Serbian President Office, officers of Embassy of China to Serbia, executives of HBIS Operation Improvement Department, HBIS Serbia plant and HBIS International Trade Company were also in the meeting.
