July 8, HBIS Chairman Liu Jian met Director General of World Steel Association (worldsteel) Edwin Basson in Qingdao to discuss the road map of green and low carbon development to jointly push forward the development of world steel industry.

Worldsteel Deputy Director General Zhong Shaoliang also attended the meeting.

Liu Jian welcomed Edwin Basson and his team for the visit and appreciated the assistance of worldsteel in the development of HBIS.

Liu said, HBIS adheres global rules as an enterprise taking serious social responsibility, takes solid effort in reducing carbon footprint to lead the whole industry in green and low carbon development. In addition, HBIS has deepened cooperation with global leading enterprises to let steel products to apply different scenario of society, promote steel integrated more with daily life, steel is no longer cold. HBIS will take the duty as a member of worldsteel, enhance the cooperation and exchange with wordsteel, participate and support wordsteel works in comprehensive way to jointly forge ahead the advancement of global steel industry.

Ediwn Basson introduced the recent focus of wordsteel, he thanked HBIS support to the 2nd worldsteel Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Supply Chain Coordinated and Innovative Development Conference. He side, he has deeper understanding for evolving steel craft and products, HBIS has been turning dreams to reality, to let us have more anticipation for steel promoting society progress. Wordsteel will continue support HBIS development as usual and enhance both exchange and cooperation in different areas, to jointly deliver wisdom and dynamics to global steel industry in green and low carbon development.

In the visit, accompanied by Liu Jian, Edwin Basson visited the exhibition hall of Dahe Metal and took a better understanding about the R&D of new materials, products applications and clients in global of HBIS.

HBIS supervisor, Dahe Metal executives, HBIS Strategic Research Institute head, worldsteel executives in Member and Exchange programs heads were also in the meeting.
