April 7, HBIS Chairman Liu Jian met World Steel Association Director General Edwin Basson in Sydney, Australia and discussed the development of world steel industry and agreed to promote the sustainability of Chinese and world steel industry.

Worldsteel Deputy Director General Zhong Shaoliang was also in the meeting.

Liu Jian introduced the performance of HBIS and appreciated the long support of Worldsteel. He said HBIS would continue the second half chapter of the reform and upgrade of steel industry by making more efficient, lower costs and greener and follow the development of world steel industry. Steel, an industrial products could be more charming in all communities and replace more traditional materials. HBIS and Worldsteel have been working for a long time and in future, they could strengthen their collaboration and contribute more in the healthy and sustainable development of world steel industry.

Edwin Basson welcomed Liu Jian to join the Worldsteel events and he thanked the great supports of HBIS to the association. He said Worldsteel was dedicated to serving its member companies and sustainability of world steel industry. HBIS is a long term partner of the association and leading the carbon reduction efforts of world steel industry. Steel, a multi-purpose material, still owns great future and Worldsteel is willing to assist steel manufacturers in the globe to build a healthy and sustainable steel industry.
